MiniTool ShadowMaker Free Setup Size is 69.28 MB, and it takes only 14.41 seconds to install completely. You can save system image Locally or on the remote device also. Creating a full system Image takes 16 minutes hardly.
Local And Remote Backup
With a beautiful, Which looks simple and easy to handle even per the users having basic Computing Knowledge. System’s Primary partition is selected by default and user can manually configure the destination location, which can be either on shared network devices or can be saved on External hard drives or on the same device but on the different partition other than the primary partition of the system.
Scheduling System Backups
Schedule backups can be configured on daily (at a desired time), Weekly (Multiple days in a week can be selected), Monthly (Multiple days in a month can be selected) or on the occurrence of certain events specified by the user.
User can configure the period system backup either in full, differential or incremental mode. Sector by sector backup or backup for only used sectors can be used to create system image. however using Sector by Sector backup can consume more disk space than the later one.
Configuring Backup Size Limits & Compression Level
The user can configure the maximum Size limit of System image file, but the default image size for backup by the program is only 4 GB. System Image backup will split into the 4 GB each in case the size of the system image backup exceeds 4GB. System Image File Size can be further reduced using different options that Include Medium Level (Recommended by the program) and High Level. Also, note that using high compression level may slow down the backup process and can consume more system resources.
Notes For your Backups
Users can also mention individual notes to each backup for proper identification of different system backups taken at different time periods.
Excluding Files From System Backup
There is nothing much in Manual Configuration option in file exclusion section, but users can opt to exclude Windows Page & Hibernation files from their backups, which is enabled by default in the program’s setting.
Shutdown your system or Do Nothing
Upon successful completion of a backup process, you can decide whether to shut down the system or do nothing. It Can be configured Under Shutdown section in the program’s option/settings.
Password Protection for Your Backups
Users can setup password and data encryption technology to encrypt their backups to prevent any misuse of backup files. There are three options available in Data encryption level None, Normal or AES128.
Verifying & Taking Backups at Later period
Users can also verify the backup data immediately after backup by merely enabling the validate backup after Creation option under verify section in Program’s Settings. Users can set up the next system back up or Restore at a later period.
Add & Remove Old & New Backups
In Restore Section of Program’s Interface, users can either Restore using the backup list already appearing or can manually add the older backups saved at a different location to restore the system. In Manage Section of Program’s Interface, A New Backup can be created or added if kept at a different location other than the location specified in backup settings.
Setting Up Different Backup Modes
Users can set Full, Incremental or Differential Backups from the manage Section only after the successful creation of their 1st Full System Backup. Task Execution results can be viewed in the log section of program’s interface.
- WinPE- based media with mini tool Plugin: You can create a WinPE- based media with mini tool Plugin which can be saved in the form of a Disk image (ISO), or can be directly burned on USB Flash Drives & CD/DVD Disks.
- Boot menu: A Boot menu to access the system backup or restore option directly from the system’s boot can also be setup using program’s “Add Boot Menu Tool.”
- Mounting & un-mounting System Image Files: Backup Images saved on the disk can be mounted to access the older backed up files and keep it at a different location in the case of loss of essential data.
- Disk Cloning: System’s Primary disk can be cloned to another disk in case of replacement of new hard drives or upgrading your hard drives to SSD.
- Browsing for Saved Images: just browse the file saved in your backup files using Browse option in the tools section of program’s interface.
- Verifying Image Files: Users can verify the Backup image files immediately after creation or before restoring their system to check if there is an error that can make the restore process difficult in case of any error exists in saved backup images
Bottom Line: Many features are missing in the current public build. However, lots of the features that are missing in the current general build is coming in the next update, which is currently under development and is available in its beta 3 version.
